FORMULA ELECTRIC
Formula Electric is an International Collegiate Formula Racecar competition organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) as part of the FSAE series. Cal Poly’s Formula Electric program engages over twenty five students from a variety of Engineering Majors in a multi-disciplinary project that tests their ability to design, manufacture, and test a complex and dynamic machine such as an Electric Racecar.
Cal Poly’s chapter of Formula Electric began in 2007 as Formula Hybrid and has had much success in the years since. (including winning 1st place in our Vehicle class in 2009).
